Career & Technical Education

College and Career Institute Center

Preparing students for college, career, certifications, entrepreneurship, and real-world employment pathways.

Center Overview

Hands-on career and technical education.

Our students are prepared for both college and career success, as well as entrepreneurial endeavors. All students are required to develop a comprehensive college and career plan prior to graduation. Annually, our students earn millions of dollars in academic scholarships.

All Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs are offered at the Harper Woods College and Career Institute, except for Marketing, Sales, and Services, which is located at Harper Woods High School.

CTE programs provide students with instruction and hands-on experience in applying academic skills to real-world contexts. They emphasize industry standards, workplace behaviors, and interpersonal skills necessary for internship opportunities, employment, or post-secondary education — and give students the chance to earn college credits while still in secondary education.
