AI in schools represents a transformative advancement that will equip students to thrive in an increasingly digital world and provide them with a competitive advantage.

An AI Coordinator in educational settings is a specialized leadership role responsible for guiding the safe, ethical, and effective integration of artificial intelligence tools into teaching, learning, and daily operations.

Core Responsibilities

  • Policy and Governance: Develop district guidelines and frameworks for the use of generative AI, ensuring compliance with data privacy laws such as FERPA, COPPA, and CIPA.
  • Staff Training and Professional Development: Design workshops and resources to enhance teachers’ skills in utilizing AI for reducing administrative tasks, lesson planning, and personalizing student support.
  • Ethical Oversight and Equity: Monitor for algorithmic bias, promote accessibility, and ensure equitable access so that all students can benefit safely from emerging technologies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate task forces and community listening sessions involving educators, families, and students to build trust and a shared vision for AI implementation.
  • Impact Evaluation: Assess the effectiveness of various software and platforms in improving learning outcomes, ensuring they serve as valuable educational tools rather than distractions.
