Meet the Director
Latoya Hall-King is a native Detroiter, and an instructional leader with over 25 years of experience in the field of education. Being a passionate advocate for education, she has teaching and administrative experience on all levels (Elementary, Middle, and High School). Beginning as a Secondary English teacher, she has held the titles of Teacher, Title I Coordinator, Curriculum Coordinator, Academic Engagement Administrator, Assistant Principal, and Principal.
She has served students and teachers in both urban and suburban school districts, and worked in both charter and traditional public school settings in the Detroit Metropolitan area. Mrs. King has also served on the local, state, & national level as a consultant training teachers and administrators, spending almost a decade as a Trainer & Content Validator for the National Board of Professional Teaching Standards.
As a transformational leader, Ms. King has spent 17 years of her profession in educational administration. Her most recent role is that of a high school Literacy Instructor at Harper Woods High School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Alabama State University, a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Detroit-Mercy, an Education Specialist in Administration from Wayne State University, and a certification from Harvard University in the Art of Leadership, as well as a certification for Principal Leadership from Columbia University through the RELAY Graduate School of Education program.

Students must be in uniform. All students will report to HWHS for pictures at 9:00 AM or 11:00 AM. Please be present to take student ID pictures.
Please return all Green Lunch Forms as soon as possible so students can receive free & reduced lunch.
