School Election Information

The State of Michigan mandates a school district conduct an election annually on the first Tuesday of May. Candidates for available school board terms are usually found on this ballot along with proposal issues if required. A special school election can be held at other times during the year if necessary. A notice of election must be published in a general circulation newspaper (Advertiser Times) and/or be posted in a public place at all Harper Woods school buildings.

Harper Woods residents interested in running for School Board must obtain and return nominating petitions from the City of Harper Woods Clerk's Office by February 8th.
