Marching Band Receives Division I Rating
The Harper Woods Pioneer Marching Band earned a Division I, or A, Rating at MSBOA Marching Band Festival held at Warren Mott High School on October 14th. The band performed for a panel of three judges who graded them in music, marching, and general effect. The band earned an overall Division I Rating, which is the highest rating possible. The band is under the direction of Shannon Rogers.

Harper Woods HS Band Earns Division II at Festival
The Harper Woods High School Band earned a solid Division II Rating at District Band Festival held at Dakota High School on Thursday, March 12th. The band performed three prepared selections for a panel of judges as well as a selection they had never seen before. The band earned an overall Division II Rating from the judges. Festival is an important educational experience where the band receives comments from adjudicators which will help them improve their playing. A Division II Rating is an excellent rating, equivalent to a B.
MS Solo & Ensemble Results
The Harper Woods Middle School Band earned a Division I Rating at MSBOA District Band Festival on Thursday, March 5th. The band performed at Roseville Middle School for a panel of judges who graded them on three prepared pieces and one brand new "sightreading" piece. The band was given comments on things they were doing well as well as things they could do to improve their performance, then given a rating. The Harper Woods MS Band earned an overall Division I Rating, which is the highest rating possible. The band is now eligible for the state festival to be held in early May. The band is made up of 7th and 8th grade students and is under the direction of Shannon Rogers. This is the fifth straight year the band has received a Division I Rating.
Marching Band Earns Division I
The Harper Woods Pioneer Marching Band performed at MSBOA District XVI Marching Band Festival held at Warren Mott High School on October 8th. The band performed their halftime show for a panel of three judges, grading the band in marching,music, and general effect. The band earned all A’s and B’s, with an overall A average, earning them a Division I Rating of Superior. The band is under the direction of Mrs. Shannon Rogers.
